A Mayan artisan carves traditional designs on a hollowed-out half of a gourd. Once finished, the handmade bowls are used to drink atol de elote, a traditional corn drink popular in many regions of Guatemala. The artisan works quickly, completing an entire bowl from start to finish in just a few minutes.
